눈 사용법 What to see
사랑하는 성도님들,
신앙 생활은
예수님을 닮아가는
훈련의 과정입니다.
운동 선수가
매일의 훈련을 통해
훌륭한 선수로 성장해 가듯이,
우리 역시 경건의 훈련을 통해
예수님을 닮은 거룩한 성도로
성장해 갑니다.
어제는 성령님의 도움을 받으며
우리 입술에서 감사와 사랑과
생명의 언어가 흘러나오게 하는
멋진 훈련을 해냈습니다.
오늘은 한 걸음 더 나아가
‘안목의 정욕’을 이겨내는
훈련에 도전합니다.
인류의 타락이 하나님이 금하신
선악과를 바라본
아담과 하와의 눈에서 시작되었듯,
오늘날에도 사탄은
우리 안목의 정욕을 자극하여
음란과 탐욕과 절망에
빠뜨리려 합니다.
오늘, 성령님을 의지하여
입술에는 하나님의 말씀을 담고
눈으로는 오직 정결한 것을 바라보는
경건의 훈련을 통해
우리 예수님을 한층 더 닮아가는
복된 하루가 되기를 축복합니다.
“나는 성령으로 몸의 행실을
죽이며 사는 자입니다.”
(롬 8:13)
The life of faith is a lifelong journey
of training in which we grow
to become more like Jesus.
Just as athletes grow into excellent competitors
through daily training,
we too grow into holy followers who reflect
the character of Jesus
through the discipline of godliness.
Yesterday, with the help of the Holy Spirit,
we practiced the beautiful discipline of
allowing words of gratitude, love, and life
to flow from our lips.
Today, let us take one step further and
train ourselves to overcome
“the lust of the eyes.”
Just as the fall of humanity began
when Adam and Eve fixed their eyes
on the forbidden fruit,
Satan still seeks to stir up the lust of our eyes
and lead us into immorality, greed, and despair.
Today, let us train our eyes to look
only upon what is pure
while relying on the Holy Spirit, and
meditating on the Word of God.
May this be a blessed day in which we grow
even more like our Lord Jesus
through this discipline of godliness.
“I am one who lives by putting to death
the deeds of the body through the Holy Spirit.”
(Romans 8:13)
