What matters?
Sometimes, as we drive along,
the road ahead of us is completely jammed,
while traffic in the opposite direction flows freely.
At moments like these,
we may wish we could drive
on the other side of the road.
But no matter how fast we travel,
if we are heading in the wrong direction,
we will only move farther away
from our destination.
Life is much the same.
When the road ahead seems blocked
and our progress feels painfully slow,
we often become more concerned
about speed than direction.
We look for an easier road,
a wider road, a more comfortable road,
changing directions again and again.
But moving faster does not necessarily
mean we are heading the right way.
What matters most is not
how fast you are moving,
but whose guidance you are following
and where that guidance is leading you.
Today,
are you moving in the right direction?
“I live by following
the guidance of the Holy Spirit.”
(John 16:13)
