싸움(8/27/2026)

사랑하는 성도님들,

이 땅에서 육신을 입고 사는 동안

우리 안에서는 시기, 분노, 거짓말,

음행, 험담과 같은 육체의 욕망들이

소리 없이 거친 파도처럼

밀려오곤 합니다.

죄악 된 세상에서 살면서

눈으로 보고, 귀로 듣고,

몸으로 느끼는 것에

쉽게 영향을 받기 때문입니다.

성령님을 멀리하고 홀로 살아갈 때

그러한 육체의 정욕이 올라오면

도살장에 끌려가는 소와 같이

그냥 정욕에 끌려가게 됩니다.   

분노를 이기지 못하고,

불평의 말이 끊이지 않으며,

거짓말이 나도 모르게 흘러나옵니다.  

우리 힘과 의지만으로는

육체의 정욕을 이길 수 없습니다.  

그러나 성령님의 숨결로 기록된

하나님 말씀을 묵상하면서

성령님과 동행한다면

육체의 정욕이 잘 올라오지도 않고,

설령 올라온다 해도

얼마든지 이길 수 있습니다.

오늘의 끝자락에서, 승리의 노래로

하나님께 영광돌리시기를

간절히 소망합니다.

“나는 육신을 따르지 않고,

성령을 따라 사는 사람입니다.”

(롬 8:4)

As long as we live in the flesh,

desires such as jealousy, anger, deceit,

sexual immorality, and slander can rise

within us like fierce waves rolling

silently toward the shore.

While living in a sinful world,

we are easily influenced by

what we see with our eyes,

hear with our ears,

and experience through our bodies.

When we distance ourselves from the Spirit

and try to live on our own,

we are helplessly dragged

along by these desires,

like an ox being led to the slaughter.

We fail to overcome our anger.

Complaints pour endlessly from our lips,

and lies slip out before we even realize it.

We cannot overcome the desires of the flesh

by our own strength and determination.

But when we meditate on God’s Word,

written through the breath of the Spirit,

and walk closely with Him,

the desires of the flesh lose their power.

Even when they arise,

we can surely overcome them

through the power of the Spirit.

At the close of this day,

may we glorify God with a song of victory.

“I live not live according to the flesh,

but according to the Spirit.”(Romans 8:4)
